Holiday Brought Forward

You can configure the maximum amount of Holiday Brought Forward ('Carry Over') for the company in System Tools > Utilities > Absence > Max. Holiday Carry Over.

Days is for standard employees, Hours is for employees on an hours-based work pattern.

Carry Over FTE is for employees that have less or more than 1 FTE and your company policy dictates that the holiday brought forward should be pro-rata'd by their FTE.

If an employee has unused holiday at the end of the absence year, the system will automatically put this into the Holiday Brought Forward field on the Contract tab, up to the limit the Max. Holiday Carry Over has set. This can be overridden at any time by anyone with create permissions for this tab.

If, by company policy, holiday brought forward is only valid for a few months after the new absence year, you can create a scheme for this in System Tools > Lookup Tables >Brought Forward Scheme. You can set the name of the scheme and how many months the holiday brought forward is valid until. You can then select this scheme on an employees Contract tab.

When an employee books a holiday, it comes out of the holiday brought forward first, then the holiday entitlement.

Once the valid period is over, any holiday brought forward not used will expire and no longer be available to take.
